HISTORY

Prison Prevention Ministries started (in 1979) with a small group of businessmen meeting in prayer for those within our community that were forgotten, ignored or removed from society…but needing to hear about the love of Jesus.

Founding director, Colonel Roger Ingvalson, a Vietnam War POW 1968 – 1973, wondered why God had spared his life; he learned that God had prepared just the place for him – ministering to prisoners.

PPM has grown from a local prison ministry into a regional prevention ministry for both inmates and youth. Roger Ingvalson said it best "Through the years the message has always been the same-JESUS". Over the years countless volunteers, former and present staff members and financial supporters have been diligent in sharing the Gospel message with those in prison and at-risk youth.
